broadstairs blues bash summer special 2013Three of the most exciting acts in British music will be taking their guitars, suntan lotion and shrimping nets to the sunny seaside Blues haven that is Broadstairs in Kent on 27 July.

The Pavilion Theatre will host The Congo Faith Healers; Dave Migden and the Dirty Words – Harvest UK Battle of the Blues winners; and Rosco Levee and the Southern Slide for the Best of the Blues Bash Summer Special, which is a mini-festival all its own following February’s annual Blues Bash in the town.

As he packed his satchel, Rosco Levee told Blues Matters, “The Bash was fantastic, we had a great time. I really like Dave Midgen and The Congo Faith Healers and I’m looking forward to a great night. We have a big stage with a big sound system! We’ll be playing some songs from “Get It While You Can”, our new album that we aim to release in September, following a single in July.”

The Congo Faith Healers are seen far and wide, including at a venue where Jools Holland, no less, is Patron of Music, the Boisdale Canary Wharf. Bandleader, Sonny, said, “The last time we were in Broadstairs it was at The Dolphin for the Bash, we went down really well and we’re looking forward to The Pavillion Theatre.”

You can expect Sonny and the band, including their Cuban trumpeter, to be drinking lashings of ginger beer with the locals and having a jolly good time on stage, along with Dave Migden and Rosco Levee.

So, why not get yourself down to the coast, get some ice creams in, and look forward to a night of musical magic?!
