The Delta Wires release their new music video for All I Have To Give taken from their 7th album Born In Oakland which was released in summer 2017. The Delta Wires are a big, high-energy harmonica and horns blues band from the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area in the US. This latest track has been described as a bluesy love song with a distinctive West Coast flavour.
Album Review for San Diago's Little Hurricane's latest album, Same Sun Same Moon. Little Hurricane was formed in 2010 when Celeste "C.C." Spina, drums, and vocals advertised on Craigslist and met studio engineer Anthony "tone" Catalano Guitar and Vocals. Album Review for Ontario's award-winning Tim Bastmeyer's All Star Blues Band. This album was released Independently and recorded at Grassfire Studio. All songs on this album are written by the band, which consists of Tim Bastmeyer on lead vocals and guitar, featuring Juno winners Julian Fauth, Paul Reddick, James Thomson, Juno nominee Sean Pinchin, and Cam de Latt.
The 4th Uk Blues Challenge took place this year at Liverpool's iconic venue The Cavern Club. The winners of this competition will go on to represent the UK at both the 34th International Blues Challenge in Memphis and the 8th European Blues Challenge in Hell, Norway during 2018. This event is hosted yearly by the UK Blues Federation and seeks to promote diversity within the UK blues scene.
EP review for Electric Blues Duo, Xavier Pillac, and Antoine Escalier from Poitiers, France. This self-titled debut EP was released in 2017 on the Baryton Music label. Inspired by street musicians in New Orleans, the duo adopted a “two man band” approach, with Xavier on lead vocals and guitar, and Antoine playing bass with his hands and drums with his feet.
Guido Brassé vocals & harmonica and Robbert Duijf vocals & acoustic guitar make up the Dutch duo, Third House On The Left who have been performing together since 2013. Their debut album Love To See You Cry was released earlier this year and consists of 10 songs all written by Duijf. Their songs are described by our reviewer as being laid back, toe tapping blues.
Live at Brighton Road finds Dani Wilde performing live in the studio with her touring band, featuring her brother Will Wilde on harmonica. Dani is performing mostly original songs, split into an acoustic and electric set. For her fans, this will be a long-anticipated treat, for newcomers it will serve as a beautiful introduction to the depth of spellbinding talent and impact of this young British Blues Lady.
